How to Train Your Agent.
Automated Training: Preparing the Training Document
Training your agent is as simple as clicking the "Train Agent" icon in the Actions column of the Agents Table which is located underneath the “Create New Agent” window.
While the agent is training, a spinning gear icon will be displayed. This process can take up to 90 seconds. Once complete, the Training Document will be available for viewing and editing in the Agent Editor under the "Training Document Editor" tab.
During automated training, our web crawler requests the raw HTML from your website (the domain you specified when creating the agent). This HTML includes public data such as your business name, address, "About Us" page, product pages, etc. Similar to how a web browser constructs a visual webpage, we strip away all the HTML, leaving only the public data. We then ask ChatGPT to structure this data into a well-organized Training Document, which will be used for all future interactions between your agent and ChatGPT.
Manual Training: Preparing the Training Document
In some cases, you may want to manually prepare the Training Document. Instead of clicking the "Train Agent" icon, go directly to the Agent Editor and select the "Training Document Editor" tab.
Here, you can create your own Training Document tailored to your needs.
Manually Editing the Training Document
After the initial Training Document is created, you may want to refine it by adding or removing details. To do this, go to the Agent Editor and select the "Training Document Editor" tab.
Here, you can make any necessary edits to ensure your agent has the most accurate and relevant information.
How the Training Document is Used
ChatGPT operates like a stateless machine, meaning it doesn't have inherent knowledge of who it's conversing with or the subject matter unless provided with context. Every time a new chat is initiated through an Agent Online agent, the Training Document is sent to ChatGPT to establish this context. A thorough and complete Training Document enables your agent to provide higher quality responses. Even if the automated method generates a Training Document that lacks certain details, you can always enhance it by editing the document afterward.
